Family Workshop – Letter Illumination

Celebrate women’s history, culture, and creativity on St Brigid’s Day with this letter illumination workshop.

St Brigid is well-known for her links to the cultural and creative life of Ireland. As Abbess of Kildare, she helped found a school of art and scriptorium which produced beautiful illuminated manuscripts. In this workshop, we will celebrate the women that worked alongside monks and contributed to the amazing art of manuscript illumination throughout medieval Europe.
