Saint Patrick’s Cathedral has teamed up with the Imperial War Museum in order to hold a commemorative screening of the feature film “The Battle of the Somme” on July 1st at 19.30. The screening will coincide with the centenary of the battle which is being marked across Europe in July. Thousands of Irish people were killed at the battle and the Cathedral has direct connection to those who fought through the Regimental Colours which hang in the north transept today.
The film has kindly been released to the Cathedral to show on the centenary by the Imperial War Museum as part of the Centenary Partnership Scheme.
The screening is free but those who wish to attend are asked to register.
